DIRT by R E FORD

Diamonds in rough times withstanding the crude men
in tumultous suburban and city lifestyles,
girls hanging low in bars feeding off of cruel jokes,
hopefully America manifests the broken; the ones
ascending to utopian like futures.

Sexual misfortune, casual, gripping at its best,
she stood drenched, fondling and gone for
her life was easy with grace and intelligence.

There is no death, nor thought out life,
relationship after failure leading to more
though we cannot predict the precedent
of where this trend may lead, bless the ground,
move to a happy place, and banish the bad
energy with all out asail on fake talk.

A plead in the night…

They move through days in delirium with their
college town surrendering its bright youth,
causing havock on gathered chaos amongst
those under planned parties, violate the law,
bring on the tampered days.

Down in a second, down against these trials,
we plead for happiness and that is all.
